Strong organizations are built not only by the people who lead them, but also by the people willing to share their experience, perspective, and connections along the way.

Flamingle for a Cause is fortunate to be supported by a Strategic Advisory Council made up of respected professionals and community leaders who believe in our mission and generously lend their expertise to help us grow thoughtfully and strengthen our impact.

Our Advisory Council serves as a resource to our Board of Directors, offering insight and guidance in areas such as nonprofit leadership, community engagement, business, fundraising, strategic planning, marketing, and organizational development.

While our Board of Directors is responsible for the governance and direction of Flamingle, our advisors broaden the experience and perspective around the table — helping us build strong partnerships, make thoughtful decisions, and remain focused on what matters most: neighbors helping neighbors.

Michael “Mike” Verbic has called North Carolina home for more than 40 years and brings a remarkable combination of professional experience, leadership and service to Flamingle for a Cause.

Over a 45-year career in information technology, Mike’s work ranged from hands-on network installation to senior leadership and consulting roles, including Vice President of Services and Senior Solutions Architect. Throughout his career, he also shared his expertise as an instructor, using technology and training to help others learn and succeed.

That passion for teaching extended well beyond his professional life. As a longtime volunteer with USA Hockey, Mike served in leadership within the USA Hockey Coaching Education Program, including as Associate Coach-in-Chief in the Southeast District. Over the years, he taught and certified more than 3,500 coaches who, in turn, helped shape the experiences of thousands of young athletes.

Mike brings to Flamingle decades of experience in technology, problem-solving, mentoring and volunteer leadership — along with a genuine belief in the difference people can make when they share their knowledge and talents in service to others.
